Fourth in a line of luxury yachts built at the North Germany Shipyard of Schweers, LEOCRIE III was justifiably described at her launch in July 1987 as being their most impressive so far. The owner's requirements were for a 'small ship' with a comfortable but quietly opulent interior for his family's enjoyment and additionally for their occasional entertainment of business associates. In 1999 the current owner bought the yacht and named her JAMAICA BAY. The entire interior was then removed and the layout changed under the supervision of Felix Bytendijk Yacht Design. The new layout consists of an additional VIP Stateroom with its ensuite head and shower on the main deck aft of the Master Stateroom. The next change was done in the layout below where the original two forward staterooms were combined to make another VIP stateroom. The entire interior was then redone in the traditional mahogany joinery work of a true gentleman's yacht by Ruiter of Holland.JAMAICA BAY is now being offered for sale as the owner is building a larger vessel in Germany. She has had a major refit starting in April of 2007 which was finished in December 2007. In September of 2006 we had a Patton survey done and all items on the survey were addressed during the refit. Prior to the complete paint work being done all metal work that needed attention was repaired or replaced. The teak decks were attended to by Jeff Gibbs; both main generators were zero timed and all systems were checked and updated.
